BARIUM SULPHATE

Barium sulphate (chemical formula: BaSO₄) is a white crystalline solid, insoluble in water, acid and alkali, widely used in chemical industry, paint, plastics, medicine, paper making and other industries. Its pH value is an important index to measure the acidity and alkalinity of its aqueous suspension, which directly affects the application performance of the product.

Firstly, we extract the raw material of barium sulphate from high-quality ores, and then through fine grinding and grading, we ensure that the product has uniform particle size distribution. During the production process, we strictly control every step of the process, from the screening of raw materials to the packaging of the final product, there is a strict quality control system to ensure the quality and stability of the product.Barium sulfate itself is a neutral compound, the solubility of pure product in water is very low (about 0.002 g/L at 25℃), so the pH value of its aqueous suspension is usually close to neutral (pH 6.5~7.5). However, in actual industrial production, the pH value of barium sulfate may change due to many factors. Raw material source: Barium sulfate prepared from natural barite may contain traces of alkaline or acidic impurities (e.g., carbonate, sulfide), resulting in a slight deviation of the pH value. Surface treatment: Some modified barium sulfate (e.g., coated by stearic acid and silane coupling agent) may affect the pH value (e.g., pH 8~10) due to residual treatment agent. Production process: Acid or alkaline washing processes may introduce H⁺ or OH- ions, resulting in pH fluctuations.
