TRISODIUM PHOSPHATE
Tetrasodium pyrophosphate, with the chemical formula Na4P2O7, is a white, water-soluble, inorganic compound. It is commonly used as a buffering agent, emulsifier, dispersing agent, and thickening agent. TSP has a high solubility in water, forming an alkaline solution. It is stable under normal conditions but can hydrolyze in acidic conditions to produce disodium phosphate and phosphoric acid. It can chelate metal ions, which enhances its effectiveness in detergents and water treatment processes. It also exhibits good thermal stability and is non-combustible, making it useful in a variety of industrial applications.
