UREA

Granulated Urea, also named as carbamide, it's chemical formula is CH4N2O, And it's an organic compound composed of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen. Urea is a white crystal and is a product of animal protein metabolism.

Chemical property:

Granulated Urea is easily soluble in water, and can dissolve 105 grams in 100 milliliters of water at 20 ℃. The aqueous solution exhibits a neutral reaction. There are two types of urea products. Crystalline urea is in the form of white needle shaped or prismatic crystals, with strong hygroscopicity. After absorbing moisture, it clumps up and absorbs moisture 12 times faster than granular urea. Granular urea is a semi transparent particle with a particle size of 1-2 millimeters, with a smooth appearance and significantly improved moisture absorption. At 20 ℃, the critical moisture absorption point is 80% relative humidity, but at 30 ℃, the critical moisture absorption point drops to 72.5%. Therefore, urea should be avoided from being stored open in humid summer climates. Adding hydrophobic substances such as paraffin in urea production greatly reduces its hygroscopicity.

Granulated Urea Purpose:

Urea is suitable for all crops and all soils, and can be used as base fertilizer and topdressing. It can be applied to both dry and paddy fields. Due to the accumulation of a large amount of ammonium ions during the transformation of urea in soil, it can lead to a 2-3 unit increase in pH. In addition, urea itself contains a certain amount of biuret, which can have an inhibitory effect on crop roots and shoots at a concentration of 500ppm. Therefore, urea is not suitable for use as a seed fertilizer.
