MAGNESIUM SULPHATE

Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate (MSSH) is a common chemical with a wide range of uses. Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate is used as a fertiliser in agriculture, especially for amending magnesium-deficient soils. Magnesium is one of the main components of chlorophyll, which is essential for plant growth. Magnesium sulphate heptahydrate is commonly used in potted plants or magnesium-deficient crops such as tomatoes, potatoes and roses. Its high solubility makes it an ideal soil amendment. Magnesium sulphate can also be used as a magnesium supplement in feed processing, magnesium is an indispensable factor in the body of livestock and poultry to participate in the bone-building process and muscle contraction, and plays an extremely important role in the material metabolism and neurological function of the body of livestock and poultry.

Chemical Properties:

Magnesium sulphate heptahydrate is stable in humid air below 48.1°C and easily weathered in warm dry air. Above 48.1℃, it loses 1 crystalline water and becomes magnesium sulfate hexahydrate. At 150°C, it loses 6 crystalline water, and at 200°C, it loses all crystalline water and becomes powdered anhydrous magnesium sulphate.
Food:
Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used as a food fortifier for dairy products, drinking liquids and milk beverages, mineral beverages and so on. Our country stipulates that the use amount in dairy products is 3~7g/kg, the use amount in drinking liquid and milk beverage is 1.4~2.8g/kg, and the maximum use amount in mineral beverage is 0.05g/kg.
Building materials:
Magnesium sulphate dissolved in water can react with light burning powder to form magnesium sulphoxide cement, which has better fire resistance, heat preservation, durability and environmental protection, and is used in many fields such as fireproof door core boards, exterior insulation boards, silica modified insulation boards, fireproof boards and so on.
