The ideal storage temperature is between 10°C and 30°C, with relative humidity below 80% to prevent moisture absorption and clumping. DTPA should be stored in compatible containers, such as HDPE (high-density polyethylene) drums or bags, which are resistant to chemical corrosion. Containers should be tightly sealed to prevent contamination and moisture ingress, and labeled with clear product information, including name, purity, and hazard warnings.
Handling industrial grade DTPA requires appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety. Workers should wear chemical-resistant gloves, goggles, face shields, and protective clothing to avoid direct skin or eye contact. DTPA is slightly irritating to the skin and eyes, so any contact should be immediately rinsed with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Additionally, DTPA should be shipped separately from food, feed, and pharmaceutical products to prevent contamination. Exporters should provide a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to the shipping carrier, outlining the product's properties, safety precautions, and emergency procedures.
