Specification
Sodium bicarbonate, with the molecular formula NaHCO3, is an inorganic compound, white powder or fine crystals, odorless, salty in taste, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol (some say insoluble), and slightly alkaline in aqueous solution. It is prone to decomposition when heated and slowly decomposes in humid air, producing carbon dioxide. It begins to decompose at around 50 ℃ and completely decomposes when heated to 270 ℃. When encountering acid, it strongly decomposes and produces carbon dioxide.

Application
Neut sodium bicarbonate is used to alleviate heartburn, acid reflux, or excessive stomach acid by neutralizing excess stomach acid. It belongs to the category of antacids and is also used to treat symptoms of gastric or duodenal ulcers.
It is also used to make blood and urine more alkaline, and is used in certain situations.
As an additive, it is used to increase the pH value of acidic solutions, reduce the occurrence of chemical phlebitis and patient discomfort during intravenous injection.
It is used to manage acidosis, severe kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes, circulatory insufficiency caused by shock or dehydration, and severe primary lactic acidosis during cardiac arrest.

Mechanism of action:
As a systemic alkalizing agent, it increases bicarbonate in plasma, buffers excessive hydrogen ion concentration, and raises blood pH, thereby reversing the clinical manifestations of acidosis.
As a urine alkalizing agent, it increases the excretion of free bicarbonate ions in urine and effectively raises the pH value of urine.
