Oxidative decomposition of melanin:
Melanin is the main determinant of skin color, catalyzed by tyrosinase. Hydrogen peroxide directly oxidizes melanin particles (such as true melanin and brown melanin) through strong oxidizing properties, decomposing them into colorless small molecules (such as carboxylic acid substances), thereby fading pigmentation or achieving uniform skin tone.
Inhibition of tyrosinase activity:
