AMMONIUM CHLORIDE
Overview
Ammonium chloride (referred to as 'its of salt', also known as brine sand, chemical formula: NH4Cl) is a colourless cubic crystal or white crystalline powder. It has a salty, cool and slightly bitter taste, and is an acid salt. Its relative density is 1.527, it is soluble in water and ethanol, soluble in liquid ammonia, insoluble in acetone and ether. The aqueous solution is weakly acidic, and the acidity increases when heated. At 100 °C, the solution begins to volatilise significantly, dissociating into ammonia and hydrogen chloride. Upon cooling, the two components recombine to generate very small particles of that and white smoke, which are not easily soluble in water. Upon heating to 350 °C, sublimation occurs, with a boiling point of 520 °C. While hygroscopicity is relatively low, the substance can absorb moisture and form lumps in humid and rainy weather. It is corrosive to ferrous metals and other metals, with corrosion being particularly pronounced in copper. Ironically, it does not corrode pig iron.

Decomposition temperature
At 337.8°C, it dissociates into ammonia and hydrogen chloride, and when cooled down, it re-synthesises into that with very small particles and appears as a dense white mist, which is not easy to sink, nor is it easy to re-dissolve in water.
