The linear alkylbenzene (LAB) produced is then sulfonated with sulfur trioxide (SO3) in a continuous reactor to form LABSA. The reaction can be summarized as follows: C6​H6​+R−CH=CH2​→C6​H5​−R    C6H5−R+SO3→C6H4(SO3H)−R
