Calcium Formate

Calcium formate in concrete, also known as calcium citrate, has the molecular formula C2H204Ca. Slightly hygroscopic, with a slightly bitter taste. Neutral, non-toxic, soluble in water. The aqueous solution is neutral. The solubility of calcium formate does not change significantly with increasing temperature, with 16g/100g of water at 0 ℃ and 18.4g/100g of water at 100 ℃. Specific gravity: 2.023 (20 ℃), bulk density 900-1000g/L. Heating decomposition temperature>400 ℃.

Calcium formate in concrete is used as a rapid setting agent, lubricant, and early strength agent for cement. Used in building mortar and various types of concrete to accelerate the hardening rate of cement, shorten the setting time, especially in winter construction, to avoid slow setting speed at low temperatures. Quick demolding allows cement to increase its strength and be put into use as soon as possible. Calcium formate usage: various dry mixed mortar, various concrete, wear-resistant materials, flooring industry, feed industry, leather making. The dosage and precautions for calcium formate are about 0.5~1.0% per ton of dry powder mortar and concrete, with a maximum addition of 2.5%. The dosage of calcium formate gradually increases with the decrease of temperature, and even the application of 0.3-0.5% in summer will have a significant early strengthening effect.
