There are two main production processes for this product: one is to produce both soda ash and ammonium chloride by using the Hou's alkali production method invented by the famous Chinese scientist Hou Debang; the other is to produce potassium carbonate and other potassium salts as by-products. Ammonium chloride is very prone to caking, and the product is usually prevented from caking by adding anti-caking agents.
